Learn how to use your sewing machine to create your very own shopping bag.
Your tutor, Sarah from Helyk Homesteading, will show you how to construct your bag. You will learn good practice for starting and stopping your machine, how to control the stitches, how to reinforce the material for the handles and position them, and how to add a lining.
Although this course is aimed at beginners, it will be very useful if you learn how to thread your machine before the start of the workshop. Bring along your working sewing machine and its instruction book.
You will also need 0.5 metres of sturdy fabric (curtain fabric is ideal), or choose from our reclaimed fabrics and sewing machine thread .
